What documents are required for trade licence renewal?

To renew a trade licence the following documentation is required:

  1. A signed copy of the terms and conditions
  2. A signed price list
  3. A signed application form
  4. A signed office lease agreement (if applicable)
  5. The Shareholder’s updated documents (passport and visa copies)

What documents are required for new visa application?

To apply for a new visa the following documentation is required:

  1. The signed visa application form
  2. A passport copy (holding 7 months’ validity with 3 empty pages)
  3. Documents to show current visa status
  4. A copy of the valid company license
  5. A copy of the valid Establishment / Immigration card
  6. A signed employment contract
  7. A copy of a University degree (if applicable, attested, and translated)
  8. Passport photographs (white backgrounds, passport sized, and high resolution)

How do I start the visa process?

After your establishment card has been issued, it is important to reach out to your designated Visa Consultant for further assistance. Our team of experts will guide you through the visa application process and ensure that all necessary documents are collected and submitted in a timely manner.

Can I transfer my company to another free zone?

Currently, it is not possible to transfer your company from one free zone to another in the UAE. However, you can establish a branch of your existing company in a different free zone. This means that your company will still exist in its original free zone and have a presence in the new free zone through its branch.

Can my local partner take control of my business?

That is correct, if your company is not structured correctly, you may face limitations when it comes to transferring it to a different free zone in the UAE. At Zara Business, we provide expert advice on company structuring and can help you implement the necessary mechanisms to ensure that you always remain in control of your business.

What happens if my local partner passes away?

If your local partner in the UAE is a natural person, then in the event of their passing, their heir will inherit their 51% share in your business. It will be up to the heir to decide whether they want to continue acting as a nominee shareholder or negotiate new terms or become more involved in the business. At Zara Business, we provide a corporate nominee shareholder solution that can help protect you in case of the passing of a local partner. This solution can provide you with more control and stability in the event of such an occurrence.

What if I want to change my local partner?

At Zara Business, we provide a market-leading 30-day notice period without penalty if you wish to transfer the shares to a new partner while under our sponsorship. However, if you have a natural person as your local partner in the UAE, it is your responsibility to negotiate the exit terms at the time of exit. This means that you should establish the terms of the agreement with your local partner at the outset to ensure a smooth exit process in the future.
